From an early age, Pete was captivated by the skies, a love affair with aviation that began in childhood and grew into hands-on experience as a pilot, not merely a passenger.

Following his military service, they ventured to the East Coast, immersing himself in the craft of machine shop work, mastering precision and technical skill. During this period, he spent significant time in New York City during the vibrant and transformative “Koch” years, a time when the city’s energy and endless possibilities filled their nights with wonder and inspiration.

The tragic events of September 11, 2001, profoundly impacted Pete, marking a turning point in his life. The loss of close friends, including a cherished woman they had dated before relocating to San Diego, left an indelible mark.

This personal tragedy spurred a dramatic shift, leading him to a career in trucking. Behind the wheel of an eighteen-wheeler, Pete traversed the country, finding solace in the open road.

The long hours provided ample time for reflection, with a carefully curated music playlist serving as the soundtrack to his daydreams. It was during these journeys that the seeds of his creative writing took root.

San Diego became a chapter of liberation and celebration, Pete. He embraced the laid-back coastal lifestyle, spending countless days on the Silver Strand near the iconic Hotel Del in Coronado.

These moments of freedom and exploration fueled his zest for life and later informed the vivid settings in his writing. Pete’s debut work, centered on the character Chrissie Piper, is a testament to his belief in the power of determination to alter one’s path.

Inspired by the challenges faced by abused youth in society, Pete crafted Chrissie’s story to highlight the strength it takes to rise above adversity. Set in the communities of Rossmoor/Los Alamitos, the narrative not only puts these places on the literary map but also serves as a beacon of hope for young women.

Through Chrissie’s journey, Pete conveys a powerful message: no matter how difficult the circumstances, determination and focus can lead to a brighter future, even if the path isn’t glamorous.
